Franklin Method® Spine Workshop

open to everyone 

Sunday 10th March

10am - 1pm @ The Body Workshop Pilates, Cirencester

Come learn more about your spine so that you can embody it's function and enable it to feel the best it has ever felt! 

  • Learn how to use imagery to improve your spine mobility

  • Understand how the spine is designed and it's functions 

  • Learn and embody the movements in the different parts of the spine

  • Embody exercises to improve your posture

Franklin Method® The Art of Breathing

open to all Movement instructors and therapists

Location: The Body Workshop Pilates, Cirencester

Presented by tom waldron

Tom is an international educator in biomechanics and exercise. He is a European faculty member for the Franklin Method and a Master Trainer for Biomechanics Education. Tom run's his own sports therapy and exercise rehabilitation clinic in Portsmouth, UK. 

In this 3 hour workshop you will learn the mechanism of healthy breathing in every day life. We are going to learn how to release the muscles that help facilitate breathing as well as learn how to stretch and strengthen your most important muscle in your body - the diaphragm!

  • increase your awareness of your own shoulders and neck and how your lifestyle is affecting them

  • understand the biomechanics and efficient use of the shoulders and how they affect your posture

  • experience how changing your thoughts and imagery can change your movement and posture

  • equip yourself with a tool kit of effective imagery techniques and how to apply them throughout your life

  • improve your mood and lower you tension levels permanently

We do all of this through movement, touch, ball release exercises and resistance band exercise.

About Charlotte

Charlotte is a level 2 Franklin Method Educator. She has a BA in Dance Studies from Roehampton University and is a Comprehensively trained Pilates instructor. Over the last 5 years Charlotte has been taken many courses including Madeline Black’s Immersive advanced Instructor Training and Gary Ward’s Anatomy in Motion.

Have you ever suffered from back pain? According to statistics 80% of adults will or have suffered from back pain. This can affect our work, mood and home life which can also so often be the cause. This Franklin Method workshop will take a in depth look at the amazing spine, discs and musculature of the back which can so often have negative and often scary associations. Learn how to visualise, feel and move your spine in a more fluid, comfortable and easy way.

ABOUT CHARLOTTE & becky

Becky is franklin Method Spine trainer. Is also a compressively trained Pilates Instructor with Polestar Pilates. She also on the Polestar Pilates UK education team as a Mentor. Becky has 15 years experience within the Pilates and Fitness industry. She has work in some of the worlds leading health clubs and now runs The Body Workshop Pilates Studio in Cirencester.

Pelvic Power and Finding the Floor - Franklin Method® Workshop

The pelvis is the centre of the body and can directly affect tension in the hips, lower back and even down to the knees. The pelvic floor is an intricate web of muscles that supports and balances the pelvis. But how do we maintain the health and efficient movement of our pelvis and its supporting muscles? For an area of great importance there is so much mystery and misunderstanding. In this workshop we will discover the pelvis, pelvic floor and movement of the hip joint to help to unlock the power of your centre.
